A man that was on the run from the Weir Police Department was captured Monday during a traffic stop on Highway 12.
Weir Police Chief Dillion Cates posted on the department’s Facebook page that Joey Ryan Simmons was taken into custody at 7:38 p.m. during a traffic stop on Highway 12. Simmons has been charged with attempted statutory rape.
Sunday, the department posted that they were seeking the whereabouts of Simmons on a charge of felony enticement of a minor.
