A man wanted in connection with the theft of a pickup truck in Attala County was apprehended in Webster County.
The white 2011 Chevrolet single-cab pickup truck was stolen from J.C. Cheek Co. on Highway 12 East in Kosciusko about 5:30 a.m. Jan. 18, according to breezynews.com.
The vehicle was later tracked to Choctaw County, where deputies from Attala and Choctaw counties were searching for it, the news site reported.
Attala County Sheriff Curtis Pope later announced the arrest of Hugh Blake Ray, 29, in connection with the theft of the pickup.
Ray was taken into custody in Webster County the same day, and charged with vehicle theft and felony malicious mischief, Pope said.
The stolen truck was recovered and returned to Attala County, according to breezynews.com Authorities were continuing their investigation as of then.
Mathiston Police Chief Blake Love confirmed that an MPD officer, a Webster County sheriff’s deputy and a Choctaw County sheriff’s deputy apprehended Ray that evening in Mathiston.
Love said Ray had run into a house at 266 Spring Valley Road (not his residence) and was taken into custody there
