As 2024 wraps up, Louisville youth and Grace Christian School senior Robert Culwell has a lot to celebrate as his efforts in the show arena this year with his Palomino Horse Breeders of America (PHBA) registered gelding name Famous N Fancy paid off. At the Heart of Dixie Palomino Exhibitors Association (HOPE) yearend annual meeting this past weekend in Tupelo, Robert was recognized in the HOPE yearend placings winning Reserve High Point Youth Exhibitor.
This high point award was due to his recent successes at the HOPE fall shows as he won High Point Gymkhana Youth Exhibitor at the HOPE Halloween Classic Show and Reserve High Point Gymkhana Youth Exhibitor along with Reserve High Point Gymkhana Open Exhibitor at the HOPE Christmas in Dixies Show. Along with his success in the show arena, Robert was elected to be the Youth President of HOPE for 2025.
Robert’s older brother Julius similarly had a successful year in the show arena with him showing with his registered PHBA mare Hollywood NV ME for the first time in the amateur division. Julius won Reserve High Point Gymkhana Amateur Exhibitor at both the HOPE Halloween Classic and Christmas in Dixies Shows this fall. He further was elected as an Amateur National Director for HOPE for 2025.
The brothers will be representing the state and HOPE at the PHBA National Convention in March in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For further information about HOPE and upcoming shows, individuals can refer to the HOPE Facebook page.
