French Camp softball suffered losses to Eupora 3-2 and 4A power Kosciusko 9-0 last week.
“I thought we played hard in both games,” said coach Todd Chesser. “Not being able to practice on the (wet) field hurt us a little, but our girls came back after the Sebastopol game wanting to get better. They came out the next day and had a great practice.”
The Lady Panthers dropped the season opener to Sebastopol 7-1.
Eupora took a 3-0 lead with single runs in the second, third and fifth. French Camp scored twice in the sixth, but fell a run short. Marley Sims had two his and an RBI for French Camp. Abby Leathers had the other RBI.
The Lady Panthers had four hits against Kosciusko – a double by Haleigh Outlaw and singles by Sims, Aubrey Burrell and Cassie Taylor.
“Next week will be a good test for us,” Chesser said, “We play Vardaman on Tuesday and East Webster on Friday. Saturday we play in a tournament at Ethel.”
