Grace Christian School classes have been canceled his week due to the Coronavirus pandemic, wiping out three baseball games. The Eagles were scheduled to play Kemper Academy, New Summit and Victory Christian.
Coach Charlie Agnew is hopeful that the games can be made up, possibility as doubleheaders when Grace Christian is scheduled to play each of those teams again – March 26 at home with New Summit, March 31 at Victory Christian and April 9 at home with Kemper Academy.
“Things are kind of in limbo,” Agnew said. “If things get back to some degree of normalcy, then I would say that there is a high priority that we will try to make them up. But I don’t know what the probability is of things getting back to normalcy in the next week or so.”
The next scheduled games are March 23 with Starkville Christian and March 24 with Meridian Home School, both at home. This is all dependent upon what happens next with a very volatile situation, and that’s a big if, according to Agnew.
“I’m usually an optimist, but right now I’m sort of a pessimist,” Agnew said
