Choctaw County senior La'Genesis Johnson has been named to the girls basketball all state fourth team by The Clarion-Ledger. Girls and boys all state teams were announced in the newspaper Sunday.
Johnson, a 6-2 center and forward, averaged 16.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.9 blocks for the Lady Chargers. As a junior, she averaged 17 points and 10.8 rebounds.
Johnson has signed with Alcorn State.
She was previously chosen as a Dandy Dozen, one of the state's top 12 players, by The Clarion-Ledger.
Johnson also played volleyball for Choctaw County. As a senior, she led the basketball team to the first round of the 3A state playoffs and the volleyball team to the second round of the Class I playoffs.
