One thing that Kylan Tippet has needed with his Louisville team is time together, and things are starting to move in the right direction.
There hasn’t been any panic for the coach who recently got his full complement of a roster intact after football season ended. After three very close losses a couple of weeks ago, Tippett and the Wildcats had a huge week, scoring four wins and getting hot just in time for Class 4A, Region 4 play.
The busy week fresh off of Christmas break, started against Yazoo County on Tuesday at home. Five players scored in double figures for the Wildcats as the team had its biggest margin of defeat of the year in an 88-51 win.
Jalen Hill had a huge game filling up the stat sheet with 21 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Cam Ingram had 19 points, Antonio Dixon finished with 11 points, and Semaj Knowles had 10 points.
Playing Scott Central on Wednesday, the defense was the name of the game in a 55-41 win. Hill had 13 points, Knowles had 12, and Keyarrion Jackson had 11 points to lead the Wildcats.
Playing in the East Webster Christmas Classic on Thursday, LHS went up against a solid Pillow Academy team from the MAIS ranks and had no issues in a 71-50 win. Knowles was in double figures again with 11 points, and Naj Coburn missed a double-double with eight points and ten rebounds.
The week was closed out at Noxubee County on Friday as the Wildcats took on their bitter rival. LHS got the season sweep over the Tigers with a 60-55 win led by Hill’s monster game with 27 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
Cameron Ingram had 13 points and five rebounds.
The perfect 4-0 week got LHS over .500 for the first time this season at 8-7.
The Lady Wildcats continued to roll to close out 2022 as LHS dismantled Yazoo County 61-20 and pulled one out over Noxubee County 64-52. No further information was delivered from coach Mitchell McCurry. The Lady Wildcats are 13-2 on the season heading into district play.
The two teams started district play this week, which began against Northeast Lauderdale at home on Tuesday and at Kosciusko on Thursday.
