The Choctaw County Chargers currently sit at third in the 3A Region 4 standings and a matchup against Nettleton could determine where they land. They’re currently sit behind East Webster – their only district loss as both set their sights on an undefeated Nettleton.
But, district has to take a pause because the Chargers are experiencing an unexpected break as the weather put a damper on their play as the matchup against Nettleton and a matchup against old 2A foe Philadelphia both were cancelled.
As for the Lady Chargers, they’re awaiting a second match against East Webster in hopes of giving the Lady Wolverines their first district loss, as the Nettleton Lady Tigers are hoping they can knocked the Lady Chargers down a peg.
But, again, it’ll have to wait.
For now, the Chargers and Lady Chargers are hoping they can play their match against Aberdeen tonight, however at press time, only the weather will be able to tell.
They were able to get in one game as the Chargers and Lady Chargers swept Mooreville at the Cobb.
The Lady Chargers took a easy win against the Lady Troopers with a 45-15 run, with the Lady Chargers taking the lead and never looking back on their first day back from Christmas break.
The Chargers defeated the Troopers 54-39.
Senior Garrick Alston led the Chargers with 20 points and Caleb Cunningham followed with 14 point. Jakarius Weaver had eight points, Chancen Mosley had four points, Treyvionne Woodard had three points, Allen Landum and Jayvion Lowery each had two points and Quayvion Lowery had one.
