After winning a tight 7-6 game against Sacred Heart on Friday, Nanih Waiya left no doubt on Monday.
The Warriors hammered the Crusaders 12-2 on Monday to sweep the Class 1A first-round series.
Nanih Waiya improves to 15-6-2 on the season and will play Taylorsville in second-round action this week. The Tartars beat Shaw in two games.
Nanih Waiya 12, Sacred Heart 2
The Warriors built and early lead and cruised to a five-inning, run-rule win on Monday to sweep the series from the Crusaders.
Nanih Waiya scored four in the first, three in the second and two in the third and led 9-0. The Warriors finished with three in the top of the fifth while Sacred Heart scored two in the bottom of the fifth.
Nanih Waiya banged out 13 hits and drew nine walks. Braxton Flake was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Walt McLendon was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs. Eli Stanton was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and three runs scored while Kaleb Davis was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Jake Vick was 2-for-3 while Kade Massey singled and scored two runs.
Gavin Daniel started on the mound and pitched five innings, giving up two unearned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three to pick up the win.
Nanih Waiya 7, Sacred Heart 6
The Warriors got a walk-off single from Caden McDaniel as the Warriors took a one-run win over the Crusaders on Friday.
Sacred Heart scored three in the second while Nanih Waiya scored one in the second and four in the third. The Crusaders added three in the fifth while the Warriors scored two in the seventh to take the win.
Nanih Waiya had 15 hits in the contest, all singles. Walt McLendon and Kade Massey were each 3-for-4 while Eli Stanton, Braxton Flake, Jake Vick and McDaniel were each 2-for-4.
McLendon started on the mound and pitched all seven innings for the Warriors to pick up the win, giving up six runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out six.
Nanih Waiya 14, Philadelphia 5
The Warriors used an eight-run second inning to take a nine-run win over the Tornadoes on Tuesday in the regular-season finale.
Each team scored one in the first while Nanih Waiya scored eight in the second and two in the third and led 11-1. Philly scored four in the fourth while Nanih Waiya finished with one in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Nanih Waiya had six hits and drew 15 walks as every Warriors walked at least once. Walt McClendon had the only extra base hit with a double while Gavin Daniel singled, walked twice and drove in two runs. Eli Stanton and Kade Massey each singled, walked twice and scored two runs while Kaleb Davis singled and drove in three runs. Jake Vick walked three times and scored two runs as well for the Warriors.
Daniel started and pitched two innings, giving up one run on two hits while Stanton pitched the next two innings and gave up four unearned runs on a hit and three walks. McLendon pitched the next two innings and gave up just one hit while Braxton Flake pitched a scoreless seventh inning.
