The Noxapater baseball team saw its season come to an end this week at the hands of 1A power Resurrection Catholic.
The Eagles swept two games from the Tigers, winning 13-0 on Friday and 14-1 on Monday.
The Tigers also lost to Louisville 15-8 on Tuesday after getting a pair of 10-0 forfeit wins over Velma Jackson on Monday.
Noxapater finishes the season with a 13-11 record.
Resurrection 14, Noxapater 1
The Eagles used a pair of five-run innings and took a run-rule win over the Tigers on Monday to sweep the series.
Resurrection scored one in the first and third, five in the second and fourth and finished with two in the fifth. Noxapater scored one in the second.
The Tigers had just two hits as Luke Sanborn singled and scored while Corbin Stapleton singled.
Zach Lloyd started on the mound and pitched 3 2/3 innings, giving up 10 runs on nine hits and six walks. Braxton Daughtery pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two.
Resurrection 13, Noxapater 0
The Tigers had just two hits as the Eagles cruised to a five-inning, run-rule win on Friday.
Resurrection scored five in the first, two in the second and six in the third.
The Tigers had just two hits on singles by Trent Roark and Kaden Carter.
Brady Ellison started and didn’t get an out, allowing two runs on two walks. Hayes Rushing pitched three innings and gave up 11 run-on seven hits and five walks while striking out two. Braxton Daughtery pitched the last inning and walked one.
Louisville 15, Noxapater 8
The Wildcats used an eight-run sixth inning to take a seven-run win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Louisville scored two in the first and one in the second and third and led 4-2 after three. Noxapater then scored five runs in the fourth to take a 7-4 lead. But the Wildcats then scored the next 10 runs and led 14-7. Each team added a run for the final margin.
The Tigers had seven hits but committed five errors and walked eight batters. Braxton Daughtery was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs while Luke Reynolds was 2-for-4. Bryton Yates doubled and driven two runs while Kaden Carter singled and drove in two runs.
Brody Joiner started on the mounding took the loss, giving up sox run on five hits and five walks while striking out six. Reynolds pitched one inning and gave up seven runs on four hits and two walks while Daughtery pitched the last 1 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on two hits while striking out three.
