It was another rough week for the Noxapater basketball teams as each squad lost a pair of games.
The Lady Tigers lost 54-19 to Nanih Waiya and 62-46 to Velma Jackson.
the Tigers also dropped two games, losing 71-34 to Nanih Waiya and 60-27 to Velma Jackson.
The Noxapater boys finished as the No. 4 seed and were scheduled to take on No. 5 seed Ethel on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in an elimination contest. The winner gets top-seeded McAdams in the semifinals on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The Noxapater girls finished as the No. 5 seed and will take on Ethel on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The winner of that contest gets top-seeded Nanih Waiya on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Nanih Waiya boys 71, Noxapater 34
The Warriors outscored the Tigers in every period and took a 37-point win on Tuesday.
Nanih Waiya led 16-8 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 15-12 in the second to lead 31-20 at the half. Noxapater continued to extend its lead in the second half, outscoring Noxapater 21-12 in the third and 19-2 in the fourth.
Shamarion Harden led Noxapater with 17 points while Isaiah Triplett had six points.
Nanih Waiya girls 54, Noxapater 19
The Lady Warriors outscored the Lady Tigers in every period to take a 35-point win over their in-county rivals.
Nanih Waiya led 6-2 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 23-4 in the second to lead 29-6 at the half. Nanih Waiya continued to extend its lead, outscoring Noxapater 13-9 in the third and 12-4 in the fourth.
Kaliyah Moore led Noxapater with 13 points.
Velma Jackson boys 60, Noxapater 27
The Falcons built a big lead early and cruised to a 33-point win.
Velma jumped out to a 27-8 lead in the first period and outscored Noxapater 17-6 in the second period to lead 44-14 at the half. Velma took the third period 10-1 and led 54-15 going to the fourth. Noxapater took the fourth period 12-6 for the final margin.
Shamarion Harden led Noxapater with 18 points while Cameron Pankey had six points.
Velma Jackson girls 62, Noxapater 46
The Lady Falcons built an early lead and took a 16-point win over the Lady Falcons.
Velma outscored Noxapater 16-8 in the first and 15-9 in the second to lead 31-17 at the half. Velma continued to extend its lead and outscored Noxapater 18-6 in the third to lead 49-23 going to the fourth. Noxapater doubled its points in the fourth, outscoring Velma 23-13 for the final margin.
Nadia Bates and Jodie Wilkes led Noxapater with 14 points apiece while Kaliyah Moore had eight points.
