Several from the Choctaw County Boys and Girls Track Team are moving forward to state after competing in South State.
The Chargers track teams had to make the long journey to Marion County to participate in South State held at Columbia High School.
For the boys, Hunter Holland and Jordan Ashford will be moving forward in the discus and the shot put. In the discus, Holland placed third throwing a 129-06 and in the shot put, Ashford and Holland placed first and second. Ashford threw 45-09 and Holland threw 45-04.
In the girls events, Fannie Miller placed fourth in the 100 meter dash and second in the 200 meter dash. In the 300 meters, Za’naiya Woodard placed third.
In the girls’ relays, the relay team consisting of Miller, Katrelya Pratt, Woodard and Aloria DeGroot placed third in the 4 x 2 and third in the 4 x 4.
In the high jump, Kami Beard placed second, and DeGroot placed second in the long jump.
In the shot put, Jaqueria Esters placed third and A’lisa King placed fourth.
The State meet takes place today at Pearl High School.
