The Noxapater baseball team only got in one game last week.
The Tigers dropped a key division contest to French Camp on Monday, falling 9-5 to the Panthers.
The Tigers are now 9-3 on the season and will face their cross-county rivals Nanih Waiya this week with playoff position on the line. Game 1 of the series was scheduled for Tuesday at Noxapater while game 2 will be Friday at Nanih Waiya.
French Camp 9, Noxapater 5
The Panthers pulled away in the middle innings and took a big four-run win in division plan on Monday.
Noxapater led 2-1 after the first inning before French Camp scored two in the second, three in the third and two in the fourth and led 8-4 after four. Each team added another run for the final margin.
The Panthers outhit the Tigers 11-6 in the contest. Braxton Daughtery was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Corbin Stapleton was 2-for-3 while Brady Ellison singled and scored two runs. Luke Sanborn also singled while Luke Reynolds and Bryton Yates also scored a run.
Zach Loyd started on the mound and pitched five innings, giving up eight runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one. Hayes Rushing pitched two innings and gave up one run on two hits and two walks.
