The Noxapater Lady Tigers opened up the 2024 season by splitting a pair of games last week.
The Lady Tigers lost a 7-5 contest to West Point before rebounding and beating Louisville 14-0.
Noxapater is scheduled to return to play this week as they host West Point on Thursday.
Noxapater 14, Louisville 0
The Lady Tigers took advantage of nine walks and six errors and took a four-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Wildcats on Saturday.
Noxapater scored three in the second, four in the third and seven in the fourth.
Noxapater had just four hits and drew nine walks. Kaliyah Moore was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Ayla Ryals singled, scored twice and had two RBIs while Emma Cremeen doubled and scored two runs. Morgan Woods walked three times and scored two runs while Aliyah McCool walked twice and scored three runs. Saniya Holmes also scored two runs.
Woods started in the circle and pitched all four innings, giving up two hits while striking out seven.
West Point 7, Noxapater 5
The Lady Tigers weren’t able to overcome seven errors as they gave up five unearned runs in a two-point loss to the Lady Green Wave.
West Point scored two in the first, three in the fourth and two in the sixth. Noxapater scored one in the third and two in the fifth and sixth innings.
Noxapater had four hits, led by Morgan Woods who was 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Kenzie Harrell was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Jodie Wilkes also scored two runs while Aliyah McCool walked twice and had an RBI.
Morgan Woods pitched all seven innings for the Lady Tigers, giving up seven runs, only two earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out eight.
