After a week off, Eupora basketball and rested and ready to get back on track.
The boys and girls basketball teams took the Thanksgiving week off to reset but played two games this week against Nanih Waiya on Tuesday and French Camp on Thursday. Both games took place after press time.
The Lady Eagles entered the week at 3-2 to start the season and most recently beat Choctaw County while losing games to Bruce and East Webster. Coach Cody Ramer was hopeful this week would bring some success back to the team as they get healthier.
“The confidence is there. If we’re all healthy and together, we’re confident,” Ramer said of his team. “I’ve had a couple of players banged up with injuries but they’re both feeling better coming into the week. I may have two out this week with the flu, but our players are excited to get back to playing this week.”
The Eupora boys are currently 1-3 but have made major strides already from last year by closing the gap in games against Choctaw County and East Webster. They have a shot at picking up some momentum if they came out on top this week at home.
Next week, the two teams will be in action on the road at Calhoun City on Tuesday night and on Friday at Vardaman. Both games begin with the girls game at 6 p.m.
