The Choctaw County Lady Chargers are starting out the year with a win against the Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors.

The Lady Chargers took on the Lady Warriors in Nanih Waiya for the volleyball opener. The Chargers completed a clean sweep. But, it wasn’t an easy task as Nanih Waiya battled throughout all three sets.
In the first set, the Lady Chargers won 25-21. The second set, the Lady Chargers took 25-20 and the third set, they sealed the deal with a 25-19 win.
Senior Evee Stevens led the Chargers with eight aces, six kills and a block assist. Sophomore Ava Talley followed with had four aces and 14 assist. Adding to the wins were, Jalia James with eight kills, Kami Beard had six kills and a block assist, Kate Beard had six kills , Hailey Mullins had two aces, and Abby Newlin had 13 digs.
Tuesday, the Lady Chargers face the Neshoba Central Lady Rockets in their home opener, and faced the Noxapater Lady Tigers Thursday, as they got settled back into the student-athlete life. The Lady Chargers are back on the road to Nanih Waiya as they participate in a tournament on Saturday.
