The Choctaw County Lady Chargers have been on a roll after taking a loss to East Webster and a split to Kosciusko with three of those wins resulting in shutouts.
In the East Webster game, the Lady Chargers lost to the Lady Wolverines by one in Cumberland. In that game, the Lady Wolverines shut out the Chargers for several innings before getting a run in in the sixth and two in the seventh, but it wasn’t just short of mounting a comeback and pushing extra innings.
Lexi Patterson and Mary Claire Salley both had doubles and Patterson had three lone RBIs.
Presley Scarbrough was on the mound against the Wolverines and in six innings she said six hitters, seven strikeouts and four runs came in on error.
In the split game against Koscuisko, the Lady Chargers lost the game 1-0 with the Lady Whippets lone run coming in the seventh inning.
But the Lady Chargers made up for the game and bounced back in the second game against Kosciusko with a win.
The Lady Chargers won 16-12 with a back-to-back match between the two until the sixth inning with the Lady Chargers brought in four runs and two in the seventh.
In that game, Abby Newlin was big on the bat with six RBIs and two doubles. Mackenzie Sanders, Maddie Sanders and Simmons Brooks each had doubles.
Brooks had four RBIs, Mackenzie Sanders had two, Maddie Sanders had one, Molly Thomas and Atleigh Hollingsworth each had a RBI.
Presley Scarbrough and Mary Claire Salley were on the mound for the split against Kosciusko.
The Lady Chargers then traveled to Winona and the following week, Winona returned to the Chargers in Ackerman. In both games the Lady Chargers won shut out wins, both ending in run-rule.
In that game, Mackenzie Sanders had three RBis and two doubles, Maddie Sanders, Lexi Patterson and Simmons Brooks each had two RBIs and Abby Newlin also had an RBI.
Presley Scarbrough, Simmons Brooks, and Molly Thomas each had doubles. Mackenzie Sanders and Mary Claire Salley had two doubles.
The Lady Chargers played the Eupora Lady Eagles and returned back to Hatley before the Lady Tigers returned to them.
