The Lady Chargers jumped back into playoff play after sweeping the Port Gibson Lady Blue Waves in three sets, sending the Lady Blue Wave on a very long trip back to Claiborne County.
But, before meeting Port Gibson, the Lady Chargers held Senior night honoring Evee Stevens and Jalia James against rival Eupora Lady Eagles in the Highway 9 Bowl, this time on the volleyball court.
The Lady Chargers swept the Lady Eagles taking the Webster County battle, and a sweet finish for Stevens and James. But, before getting out of regular season, they faced Grace Christian Lady Eagles one more time. And a battle that went down to the fifth set, the Lady Chargers finished off the Lady Eagles, and got revenge on them in a 3-2 battle.
Then Saturday, still on a high off of the Grace Christian win, the Lady Chargers welcomed the Lady Blue Wave to Ackerman and sent them packing – all in a day’s work.
Tuesday, the Lady Chargers took on the St. Patrick Fighting Irish of Biloxi as they welcomed the coastal girls to Choctaw County and Ackerman.
The results of that game will be in next week’s paper.
