The Choctaw County Lady Chargers end regular season tonight against South Panola after splitting two with East Webster and getting the win on Senior Night.
The Lady Chargers will begin playoffs in a two game series against Independence on Friday, with the first game being at the Glass. A game three will be held only if needed.
A split with the Lady Wolverines currently has the Lady Chargers in third in district. The win also knocked the Lady Wolverines out of taking district.

The Lady Chargers couldn’t get anything going against the Lady Wolverines in Cumberland. As the Lady Wolverines came out strong against the Lady Chargers.
The Lady Chargers were able to get hits, they were able to get walks, but the Lady Wolverines defense kept them out of the scorebox and proved to be a problem for the Lady Chargers.
There were innings where the Lady Chargers had runners in scoring position, they just couldn’t finish the deal.
On the mound was Junior Presley Scarbrough. Scarbrough went all six innings and had seven hitters, six runs in, 10 strikeouts and three walks.

The next matchup at the Glass was a do-or-die matchup. It was the last time Seniors Simmons Brooks and Jalia James would face East Webster, and it was last district game. A win meant that it kept the Wolverines from taking district, a loss meant that it placed the Lady Chargers in fourth place behind Mooreville.
The Lady Chargers decided they were sending their seniors off with a win, they were getting a good position in playoffs and they were not allowing the Lady Wolverines to win district at the Glass.
It was Brooks that got the Lady Chargers on the board with a single to center, scoring Lexi Patterson, putting the Lady Chargers up 1-0. The Lady Wolverines answered at the top of the third making it 1-1.
The Chargers answered back, again with Brooks bringing in Patterson after the tag up, making it 2-1. Abby Newlin stole home after Brooks fly out placed her in scoring position, making the score 3-1.
East Webster answered with their own steal and a score off of an error, making the score 3-3.
After two shutout innings, Abby Newlins seals the game with a ground ball with bases loaded to third with Atleigh Hollingsworth scoring.
