Randee Jernigan was named as the most recent Jim Warren Volunteer of the Year 2023 for USTA Mississippi, which is the highest award given to someone giving their time and resources to the sport of tennis.
This comes on the heels of her being awarded the Junior Local League Coordinator of the Year in 2022.
Randee’s hard work and dedication to the sport and community is evidenced by the facilities that Eupora now has and the sheer number of kids playing tennis playing tennis in the Golden Triangle Area, not to mention the growing number of young adults playing at the college level.
Randee is the Junior Team tennis coordinator for the Golden Triangle. She is married to Bubba Jernigan and has two children, Cliff (a freshman tennis player at Copiah Lincoln CC) and Loralee.
Randee has been in public education for the past 21 years. She is currently teaching middle school inclusion while coaching tennis and cross-country at Eupora High School. Randee became involved in JTT when her children began playing tennis.
Randee has been a lifelong sports enthusiast and enjoys teaching the fundamentals of many sports for JTT and the city of Eupora Parks and Recreation Department. With the help of USTA and local athletes, she has been able to host the first “Ready to Rally” program for the Eupora area.
