The Noxapater boys got a big division win over Ethel to wrap up a busy week on the hardwoods.
Noxapater beat Ethel 46-45 on Friday after losing 81-28 to McAdams and 67-31 to rival Nanih Waiya.
The Lady Tigers lost all three games, falling 40-37 to Ethel, 62-39 to McAdams and 50-33 to Nanih Waiya.
Noxapater was scheduled to host Velma Jackson on Tuesday and then play at Nanih Waiya on Friday to finish the regular season.
Noxapater boys 46, Ethel 45
The Noxapater boys rallied and took a one-point win over Ethel in district play on Friday.
Ethel jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the first period before Noxapater rallied to take the second period 19-10 and take a 23-22 lead at the half. Ethel outscored Noxapater 15-10 in the third to take a 37-33 lead into the fourth. Noxapater then outscored Ethel 13-8 in the fourth to take the win.
Chris Dale led Noxapater with 13 points while Shamarion Harden had 12 points. Isaiah Triplett had nine points while Camerion Pankey added six points.
Ethel girls 40, Noxapater 37
The Noxapater girls weren’t able to hold onto a first-half lead as Ethel rallied to take a three-point win.
Noxapater led 12-7 at the end of the first while Ethel took the second period 9-4 to tie the game at 16-16 at the half. Noxapater took the third period 14-11 to take a 30-27 lead into the fourth. Ethel then took the fourth period 13-7 to take the win.
Kaliyah Moore led Noxapater with 16 points while Nadia Bates had 11 points. Morgan Woods also chipped in six points.
McAdams boys 81, Noxapater 28
The Bulldogs outscored the Tigers in every period and ran away to take a 53-point win.
McAdams led 18-12 at the end of the first and then outscored Noxapater 21-5 in the second to lead 39-17 at the half. McAdams continued to extend its lead, outscoring Noxapater 30-7 in the third and 12-4 in the fourth.
Shamarion Harden led Noxapater with 13 points.
McAdams girls 62, Noxapater 39
The Lady Tigers fell behind early as the Lady Bulldogs took a 23-point win.
McAdams outscored Noxapater 14-3 in the first and 18-10 in the second to lead 32-13 at the half. Each team scored 13 points in the third while McAdams took the fourth period 17-13 to take the win.
Nadia Bates led a balanced scoring attack with nine points while Kaliyah Moore, Taylor Hamilton and Jodie Wilkes each had eight points apiece. K’Dashyia Riddle also chipped in five points.
Nanih Waiya boys 67, Noxapater 31
The Warriors outscored the Tigers in every period and took a 36-point win last week.
Nanih Waiya outscored Noxapater 11-5 in the first and 18-7 in the second to lead 29-12 at the half. The Warriors outscored the Tigers 31-14 in the third to lead 60-14 going to the fourth. The Warriors took the fourth 7-5 for the final margin.
Isaiah Triplett led Noxapater with 11 points while Shamarion Harden had eight points.
Nanih Waiya girls 50, Noxapater 33
The Lady Tigers weren’t able to hold onto an early lead as the Lady Warriors pulled away in each half to take a 17-point win.
Noxapater opened up a 12-7 lead in the first period before Nanih Waiya outscored the Lady Tigers 17-4 to take a 24-16 lead at the half. Noxapater took the third period 15-12 to cut the lead to 36-31 going to the fourth. But Nanih Waiya outscored Noxapater 14-2 in the fourth to take the win.
Nadia Bates led Noxapater with 10 points while Kaliyah Moore, Jodie Wilkes and Andrea Triplett each had six points apiece. Morgan Woods also scored six for the Lady Tigers.
