Choctaw County Chargers varsity baseball team dominated in pitching and hitting on Monday, April 18th. The Chargers went on to defeat Nanih Waiya 16-6 in six innings. The Chargers had big second and sixth innings scoring five runs in both.
Choctaw County scored sixteen runs on fifteen hits, and only struck out three times. Nanih Waiya scored six runs on five hits, and struck out ten times.
Alex Telano started off pitching for the Chargers. Telano had three strikeouts in two innings. Clark Crowley came in to relieve Telano with seven strikeouts in four innings. They combined for ten total strikeouts together.
“Our offense has been our best asset all year long. 1-9, we swing it pretty well. The guys take good approaches at the plate, and they try do damage on fastballs and mistake offspeed. We also have a handful of on the bench players who we feel confident in at the plate as well,” said Choctaw County head baseball coach Ben Tillman.
“Our pitching rotation has been really good lately. We have confidence in our five guys. The big thing is to continue to get better offensively and defensively. Continue to throw strikes and make plays in the field,” said Tillman.
