For the first time in school history, the Choctaw County Chargers boys and girls track teams are regional champs. The teams competed in Potts Camp on April 21.
In the 100 meter dash, Javontaye Robinson and Zabaius Miller placed third and fourth just a tenth of a second being each other.
In the 200, Robinson and Quaysie Lane placed third and fourth again just second behind each other.
In the 400 meter dash, Tyler Evans and Jahiem Woodard placed second and third, with Woodard right on the heels of his teammate Evans. In the same race, Devon Jordan placed seventh. In the 800, Isaiah Miller placed third.
In the 1600, Allen Landrum placed seventh and in the 3200 Landrum placed fifth and John Reese Staten placed sixth.
In the hurdles, Trey Liggins placed fourth in the 110 and placed first in the 300. Jaedin Thames placed fourth in the 300.
In the 4x1, the boys teams placed second and in the 4x2 they placed first. The boys also placed first in the 4x4 and placed second in the 4x8.
In the high jump, Jaquan Lewis placed fourth and in the long jump, Devon Jordan placed fourth and Keyshawn Scott placed sixth.
In the triple jump, Devon Jordan placed fourth and Keyshawn Scott placed fifth.
In the pole vault, Jahiem Woodard placed first and Tate Miller placed fourth.
In discuss, Hunter Holland placed first and Jack Wilcher placed seventh. In the shot put, Holland placed third and Jordan Ashford placed sixth.
In the girls races, Fannie Miller came in first in the 100 and 200 and Aloria DeGroot came in sixth in both races.
Raeley Barkley came in fourth in the 400 and Kami Beard came in seventh. In the 800, Barkley came in fifth and Abby Agnew came in seven in the 1600.
Maggie Woods, Marion Williams and Abby Agnew came in sixth, seventh and eighth in the 3200.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Zanaiya Woodard came in second, Jayla Kirkwood came in fourth and Jalia James came in seventh.
In the 300, Woodard came in third.
In the girls 4x1, the team came in second. In the 4x4, they came in third and in the 4x8 they came in fifth.
