It’s Homecoming in Choctaw County
Preparations are underway at Choctaw County High School for this year’s homecoming festivities. The theme for this year is “Rockin’ the 80s”. Students in grades 7-12 nominated and voted for representatives for this year’s Homecoming. Pictured front row: Seniors Laken Busby, Neelie Ryan Crowley, Kiersen Easley, and Chancey Whittington. Juniors Grace Combs and Molly Kate Thomas. Sophomores Evee Stevens and Aniyah Nash. 8th grade Denorria Coleman and Kelsey Fulgham. Freshmen Kami Beard and Kate Beard. 7th grade Laila Woods and Kambre Montgomery. The court will be presented and the 2021 Queen crowned prior to kickoff (6:30 p.m.) at Dale Davidson Field on Friday, September 24 as the Charger host the Yellow Jackets of Union.
Students across the county are invited and encouraged to dress up and enjoy the week. On Monday, let’s wear black and mourn the loss we will hand to Union. On Tuesday, we will Rock the Jackets as we dress as our favorite 80s rocker. Wednesday, we will dress in our favorite team’s colors and on Thursday, we will make those Yellow Jackets see double as we enjoy twin day. Friday is all about Homecoming as we wear our homecoming t-shirts and celebrate with all the festivities. A parade will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning beginning on highway 15 across from AES) through Main Street and conclude at the Ty Cobb Complex.
As has been tradition, the businesses on Main Street in Ackerman are encouraged to decorate their store fronts for Homecoming to go along with the theme. Judging will take place prior to the parade on Friday morning around 9:30 a.m. Winners will be announced via the CCHS Social Media outlets. The winning business will receive two tickets to the Homecoming Game.
Homecoming week is sure to be a Rockin great time at CCHS!
