Arrival for Students: 7:20-7:40
•Buses will be unloaded during this time and come through the back gate. No cars may come through the back gate.
•Car riders will start unloading at 7:20 and will stop unloading at 7:40
oA barrier will be set up in the car rider line to allow staff to time to park. The barrier will be moved at 7:20.
oAll cars will enter campus by turning right off of Highway 15. No left turns will be allowed.
oDuring the morning car rider unloading, there are two single lines (upper and lower). Parents may choose either line.
oWhen leaving campus all cars must turn right on to Highway 15.
•Tardy Students
oStudents are considered tardy at 7:45, and parents must bring students to the office to sign in.
Breakfast/Lunch**Menus for the month will be placed on social media and posted on the schools webpage.
•Breakfast
oPre-K through 1st grade will eat breakfast with their class in the cafeteria.
o2nd through 6th grade will eat breakfast in the cafeteria upon arrival to campus and then go to campus.
•Lunch
oPre-K through 1st grade will eat lunch in the cafeteria every day.
o2nd through 6th grade will eat lunch in the cafeteria and/or classroom. Classes may eat outside weather permitting.
•Suggestions
oIf your child is bringing their breakfast/lunch, please make sure the containers are easy to open and students can open their containers on their own as much as possible.
oAs classes in 2nd through 6th will be returning to rooms to eat some days, please make sure that if items need to be heated, they do not require a long time to cook.
Supplies
•Each child will have access to supplies in the classroom that are supplied by the school.
•If you would like to send extra items with your child, you are more than welcome to do so.
•Grade level supplies:
oPre-K and Kindergarten students need a backpack, a nap mat, and an extra change of clothes.
o1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students need a backpack.
o4th, 5th, and 6th grade students need a backpack and a binder with a zipper.
•All students in 1st through 6th grade will have a Chromebook assigned to them that will be travel with them from class to class, and students in Pre-K and Kindergarten will have access to a tablet in their classroom.
Checkouts
•If you are checking out a student, you must come to the office door, ring the silver bell, and a staff member will assist you with picking up the student.
•If your name is not on the sign out sheet for a student, you will not be allowed to pick them up
•After 2:00 pm, we ask that all students be picked up in the car ride line. This is for the safety of our students as there is a lot of traffic on campus after this time.
Conferences/Meetings with Teachers
•Meetings with teachers must be scheduled at least one day in advanced.
•Meetings with staff may be held in person, through zoom, through school status, or by other methods.
Dismissal
•Car riders dismiss from 2:45-3:00
oIn the evening, there are two lines that are both formed on the bottom loop.
oStaff members will load students, parents are not to exit their car.
oPlease have car rider tags displayed.
oNo left turns will be allowed coming onto campus in the evening or leaving campus.
•Buses dismiss at 3:00pm. After leaving AES, buses go to CCHS to pick up students.
Rainy Day Dismissal
•In the event of inclement weather for evening dismissal, car riders will all be loaded at the top awning.
•A staff member will block off the bottom portion of car riders if we are doing a rainy day.
•The buses will load one at a time under a covered awning
Changes to Dismissal**No phone changes will be accepted
•If you are changing the way a child is being dismissed, you must send it in writing to helpaes@choctawsd.ms or fax it to 662-285-4099.
Grades
•Grades for students in 1st through 6th grade will be posted once a week on Active Parent.
oIf you need an Active Parent login, please email helpaes@choctawsd.ms or call 662-285-4052 and ask Mrs. Trice from 11am to 3 pm.
oForms for Active Parent will be available at Open House.
•Pre-K and Kindergarten will receive grades/ information that is sent home at a minimum of every other week.
Special Class
•Library-Students will go to library to check out books and/or learn reading skills such as parts of a book, genres, reading strategies, help with non-fiction reading, ect.
•PE-Students will participate in physical education exercises and activities. Students will need to wear appropriate shoes on PE day(S).
•Music-Students will participate in activities to learn about different styles of music.
•Typing-(Grades 3-6 only)- Students will take the Chromebook assigned to them to typing.
Nap (Pre-K and Kindergarten only)
•Pre-K students are asked to have a red/blue plastic nap mat and may have a cover or blanket/pillow.
•Kindergarten- Students may have a red/blue plastic nap mat only. No covers/blankets will be allowed.

Medication
•If your child takes daily medication at school, parents must bring the medicine to the school with completed forms.
•These forms can be printed from the school district webpage upon request.
•If you child has asthma, seizures, diabetes, epi-pens, ect. teachers will receive training/information from the school nurse before school begins once action plans and forms are competed by a physician.
