Stella Ann Smith Mayfield, age 90, passed peacefully Friday, August 20, 2021, due to a long full life. She was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Carroll County, MS to the late Aubrey and Thelma Smith.
Stella graduated from Kings Daughter Nursing Hospital in the 1950’s. Her career spanned 50yrs and ranged from floor nurse, director of nursing, and home heath where she ended as a charge nurse for handicap children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James A Mayfield, Jr., Amory MS; daughters, Grace Mayfield Morlino and Nancy Mayfield Blackburn.
Stella is survived by her son, James A Mayfield III; daughters, MaryAnn Ballard, Danice Price, Geane Bull and Bonnie Evans.
Her graveside services were held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Amory Historical Society Cemetery, Amory, MS. Everyone was asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
