Funeral services for Joyce M. Young, 72 were held at 12 p.m., August 20 at Beck Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy Welch officiated. Burial followed in the Union Chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Young died August 6 at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Tammy Young; six sons, Donnie Welch, Leon Welch, Tracy Hardin, Leroy Owens, Thomas Eiland, James Welch and Timothy Welch; one granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rosie Lee Childress
Funeral services for Rosie Lee Childress, 94, were held at 11 a.m., August 21 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Rev. William Haynes officiated. Burial followed in the Louisville Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Childress died August 12 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Willene Sowell and Nora Eddings; 2 sons, Roy Childress and Thomas Childress; one sister, Louvenia Triplett; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 23 great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Shannon A. Carter
Funeral services for Shannon A. Carter, 41, were held at 2 p.m., August 22 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Dr. Benjamin Pittman officiated. Burial followed in the Louisville Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter died August 16 at the Winston County Medical Center.
Survivors include her father, James Carter; her mother Linder Hoskin Carter; 2 daughters, Shamya Carter and Janyla Jones; 2 sons, Tivonny Carter and Shunacy Carter; 2 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Hargie Lee Hughes
Funeral services for Hargie Lee Hughes, 84, were held at 2 p.m., August 21 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Willie Patrick Macon officiated.
Hargie died August 14 at the Winston County Nursing Home.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Ida Faye Henton Sangster and Ruby Hughes; 4 sons, Lee Hughes, Rodrick Miller, Terry Hughes, and Richard Lee Henton; he raised, Bernice Miller Flor, Sammy Miller, Betty Miller Cotton, and Robert Miller as his own; 2 sisters, Grosie Smith and Allie Bell Love; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gaylia Anne Romedy
Gaylia Anne Romedy, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at her home in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Anne was born July 29, 1937, to Vernon Augustus and Elva Lou Dempsey Horton in Winston County. Anne retired from Wal-Mart where she worked for many years as a sales associate.
Anne is survived by her children Debra Anne McQuillen of Philadelphia and Charles Victor “Vic” Romedy of Meridian, Mississippi, her four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also left is her sister Jean Ford; two brothers Bobby and Dwight Horton.
