Services for Reba Belle Palmer Blight, 97, were Aug. 5, 2021, at Mobile (Ala.) Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor Joshua Blight officiating
She was born June 30, 1924, in Webster County to the late James Richard and Myrtle Virginia Vickers Palmer, and grew up in the Clarkson community. Mrs. Blight died July 31, 2021, in Grand Bay, Ala.
Survivors include her children, Michael Blight, Danny Blight and Marye Blight Davenport; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Eric Blight, Matthew Holian, Alan Hudspeth, Billy Villar, Gavin Villar and Will Walker.

Services for Paul Wayne “Poss” Henson, 82, were Sept. 13, 2021, at New Haven Baptist Church near Weir with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Choctaw County to the late George W. and Lexie Bright Henson. Mr. Henson was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. He died Sept. 9, 2021, at his residence in Weir.
Survivors include a son, Marty Henson of Weir; a daughter, Gay Henson Magee of Flowood; two sisters, Rachel Dowdy of Olive Branch and Rebecca Pearson of Meridian; and one grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the New Haven Cemetery Fund.

‘Cowboy’ King

Services for Charles Wayne “Cowboy” King, 86, of Weir were Sept. 14, 2021, at New Haven Baptist Church near Weir with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. King’s grandsons were in charge of the service.
He was born June 28, 1935, to the late Hessie and Floyd King. Mr. King spent the majority of his life in law enforcement, including with the Jackson Police Department and Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department. He also worked as head of the security department at Belwood Industries, and raised hogs and cows. Mr. King was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. He died Sept. 11, 2021, at Diversacare of Eupora.
Survivors include his wife, Frances King; a daughter, Kathy Quigley of Collierville, Tenn.; two sons, Aubrey King of Weir and Mike King of Water Valley; a brother, Billy G. King of Weir; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service for Gerald Wayne Pritchard, 51, of Mathiston will be held at a later date.
Mr. Pritchard died Sept. 10, 2021, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Survivors include his wife, Jania Carlisle Pritchard; his father, Michael Wayne Pritchard; a sister, Nicole Pritchard Turnage, all of Mathiston; and two grandchildren.

Services for William Eugene Reid, 70, were Sept. 8, 2021, at Chester Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born Oct., 1950, in Choctaw County to the late Halbert Theron and Marie Dunn Reid. Mr. Reid was a member of Chester Baptist Church. He died Sept. 6, 2021, at his residence in Ackerman.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Collier Reid of Ackerman;
a daughter, Heather Patterson of Sturgis; two sisters, Pam Miller of Sturgis and Lanita Cochran of Tupelo; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Hollie H. Steele

Services for Hollie H. Steele, 50, of Maben and formerly of Kosciusko were Sept. 4,, 2021, at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in McCool with the Revs. Doyle Mitchell and Johnny Halderman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She was born July 29, 1971, to the late Benjamin Frank and Brenda Joyce Jones Halderman. Ms. Steele was a member of First Baptist Church of Maben and was a homemaker. She died Sept. 1, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus after a brief illness with cancer.
Survivors include her fiancé, Ken Wilkinson of Maben; two sons, Tye Steele of Oxford and Joseph Dees of French Camp; four daughters, Fletcher Steele of Oxford, Ava Wilkinson of Maben, and Brittani Wilkinson and Kendall Wilkinson of Starkville; and a brother, Benji Halderman.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Cemetery Fund.
