Doris Shepherd, aged 87, passed away at
North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora,
Mississippi on September 12, 2021. She was
the daughter of the late Lora Lee Crowley
Shepherd and Wilford Anderson Shepherd.
Doris reared her family of six children supporting
them while working at Futorian until
they closed and then worked at other various
jobs. She was a God-fearing lady who instilled
the faith of God in her children.
Throughout her life she wrote letters to all
her children encouraging them to keep their
faith in God strong.
She is survived by three daughters, Sister
Shirley Shepherd of Eupora, Barbara Shepherd
of Eupora, and Margaret Hogue of Skyline,
Mississippi; three sons, Thomas (Susan)
Shepherd of Guntown, Mississippi, Alan
(Shirley) Shepherd of Eupora, and Lloyd
(Jacinda) Shepherd of Tupelo, Mississippi;
one sister, Mildred Stephens of Florence,
Mississippi; seven grandchildren; and some
great-grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents,
John Thomas and Lora Lee Crowley Baker;
a sister, Mavis Baker; and a brother, Thomas
Lee Baker.
Services for Doris Shepherd were Saturday,
September 18, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Wise
Reed Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was
prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.
Sister Rhonda Brown Kennedy presided over
the services. Pallbearers were Donald Jean
Harrison, Stan Harrison, Alan Shepherd,
Thomas Shepherd, Corey Abbott, and Larry
Kennedy. Burial followed at Clarkson Cemetery.
Wise Reed Funeral Home was in charge
of all services.
