Debra Ann Carr, 59, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in Webster, Texas. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel and Bro. Michael Wells officiated. Visitation was the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment followed in Ellison Ridge Cemetery.
Deby was born October 21, 1961, to Dewane and Wanda Bryant Carr in Live Oak, Florida. She was a 1986 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She was an avid Mississippi State sports fan! Deby was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church and was currently a teacher at Creekside Intermediate School where she was the sponsor of the National Junior Honor Society student organization. She was a very active and dedicated educator who loved her students and they loved her in return.
Deby is survived by her son Ric Cribbs of Webster, Texas, and her father Dewane Carr of Louisville. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Deby was preceded in death by her mother Wanda Bryant Carr, her step-mother Kathy J. Smith Carr, and her grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Therrell Carr and Mr. and Mrs. Carey Bryant.
Serving as pallbearers were Hayden Carr, Jay Stokes, Larry Cockrell, Robert Hisaw, Steve Jernigan, and Brett Kitchens. Memorials in honor of Deby may be given to Ellison Ridge Cemetery Fund, 152 Ellison Ridge Church Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
