After dropping the opening game of the season to Houston, Eupora’s girls got back on the court last week to try to find a win against Ethel.
Cody Ramer’s team had a much better showing than the loss to the Lady Hilltoppers but came up short in a heartbreaker 49-48. In the loss, it was Katrelya Pratt and Alexia Johnson taking over for Eupora. The two combined to score 42 of the team’s 48 points as Pratt led the way with 22 points and Johnson had 20.
Pratt scored 15 of her points in the second half with 14 of those coming in the final quarter when the Lady Eagles scored 18 points.
The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 0-2 on the young season and it was the only game played last week as Noxapater cancelled their game with Eupora. This week the Lady Eagles are slated to play the Hilltoppers again in a home game this time on Thursday at 6 p.m. and then Nanih Waiya on Saturday at 6.
The boys squad did not play last week and will make its debut with a full team against Houston. The Hilltoppers and Eagles played Eupora’s only game of the season so far late last month with a 51-point win for Houston. Both teams will have their football players added to the roster in this ball game, however.
