The Mississippi State University Extension Service in Winston County is continuing the opportunity to get healthy and stay healthy with Winston 100, Wellness on Wheels again this summer. Incorporate the low impact, highly contagious sport of bicycling in to your healthy routine. This health promotion event is found nowhere else in the state, but right here in Winston County. If you’ve been looking for an activity that will teach you sound eating and exercise habits that will drop unwanted pounds, lower blood pressure, build fat burning muscle and is fun, Winston 100 is for you. Winston 100 Wellness on Wheels is a five week, outdoors, bicycle riding class. No classroom instruction here, all fun outdoors riding pre-determined road courses, encompassing a ten mile route once weekly, and ten miles on your own schedule, we trust your commitment. Winston 100 will begin Tuesday, July 28th at 5:30 pm, at the Winston County Extension office on 155 Vance Street for the dreaded weigh-in and blood pressure check. Don’t be nervous, if your weight & BP is a little more than you would like. By the end of the five week program, you might be surprised at how much those numbers may lower to a healthier range. Participants from previous rides can attest to this! The 10 mile group rides will officially begin, Tuesday, August 4th at a pre-determined site.
