The Mississippi Department of Transportation has modified a weight restriction on a bridge located on state Route 182 in Webster County following a recent routine inspection by district bridge inspection personnel.
The inspection documents some changes in the site conditions at the bridge. The bridge was analyzed to determine the safe load carrying capacity using information collected during the inspection.
Therefore, the load restriction on Bridge No. 122.1 on SR 182 over the White Creek Canal (located approximately 0.6 miles east of state Route 9) in Webster County has been modified to 27 Tons H Truck.
“Identifying the need for this restriction further demonstrates the importance of having experienced inspectors and engineers monitoring Mississippi’s roads and bridges,” said Melinda McGrath, P.E., MDOT executive director. “This load restriction modification will keep the bridge safe and passable.”
