In their regular monthly meeting held on Tuesday, May 12 the Louisville Municipal School District Board of Trustees dealt with several routine matters, while observing social distancing standards as set forth by the CDC. Board member, Bobby Pierce, was not present at the meeting. The Board voted 4-0 to approve a lengthy consent agenda which included: • Two donations in the amount of $7,500 for a total $15,000 from two anonymous donors to purchase a new scoreboard for the football program at Noxapater, and a donation in the amount of $2,500 from Project Lead the Way to use toward the PLTW program. The Board 4-0 to approve the following Sixteenth-Section matters: • Approval of a new 1 acre residential lease for Dalamon Harris on 16-14-12 (Center Ridge). • Approval of Mississippi Forestry Commission FY2021 year work plan for sixteenth section timber land. Nanih Waiya Feeding Program Temporarily Suspended Louisville Municipal School District Superintendent, Dr. Randy Grierson reports that the feeding program at Nanih Waiya Attendance center has been temporarily suspended, due to one worker testing positive for the COVID-19 virus. Grierson added that all other workers had been exposed and were to be quarantined. The facility has to be cleaned and sanitized, as well, thus necessitating the suspension. The probable date for restarting the program is June 1. In the meantime, those who were picking up meals at Nanih Waiya can do so at Noxapater Attendance Center, Eiland Middle School or Louisville High School. LMSD has been providiung thousands of meals a week to students in the county.
