Paxton of Walthall was here on business Monday. - Major Pinson of Ackerman was in town on business Tuesday. - Bailey & Pittman have the pure wheat middling shorts – the best. - R. C. Crow of Maben visited his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bailey, Sunday. - A. B. Bailey and family made a visit to relatives and friends at Walthall Sunday. - Miss Ora Barton of the Fellowship community was in town this week having dental work done. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Oswalt visited in the hospitable home of J. H. Pierce Saturday and Sunday. - The Gold Mine Cash Store has changed hands, W. W. Buntin having sold out to Judge Griffin. - Misses Eula Gunter and Mary Billie Miles of Eupora visited Miss Mamie Lee Greer Saturday and Sunday. - Miss Pearl Wooten and Willie and Annie Clegg of Mathiston were visiting here [at Maben] last week. - Quite a number of our young people attended the exercises held at Sapa Saturday night. They report a good time. - T. A. Tharp of Choctaw spent a few days of this week in our town, the guest of his father-in-law, Mr. Fondren. J. H. Pierce spent Monday and Tuesday in Walthall. - Snow Drop Flour, corn shorts, and oats at a low price at Clegg Bros. - We are glad to note that little Edwin Roberts, who has been seriously ill for several weeks, is some better. - We regret to note that Mrs. Byron Patterson is ill with pneumonia, but we hope that she may soon be restored to her accustomed health. - P. F. McCain and E. O. McClain made a trip to Memphis the first part of this week. We understand that Mr. McCain went for medical treatment. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Lewis of Slate Springs are here on a visit in the home of E. L. Roberts, on account of the serious illness of their little sister. - W. B. Johnson is back at home from a visit to his sister, Mrs. J. W. Wilkerson, who has been critically ill. We hope that she may soon recover. - The Easter services that were held at the Methodist and Presbyterian church were a perfect success and everybody seemed to enjoy them very much. - Mrs. Tom Taylor of Eupora was in town Saturday having dental work done. It is a mighty good thing to have an up-to-date dentist like Mathiston has.
