LOCAL MENTION [Chas. F. Brock, Local Editor]: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hughes of near Clarkson, made us a pleasant call Tuesday. - M. Brooks of the Blythe Creek vicinity was in town transacting business here Tuesday. - Dr. Albert Nason and wife, of the Self Creek, visited S. L. Ramsey Sunday and Monday. - We are glad to learn that the greater part of the sick people of our town are improving.
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Oswalt, of the Lagrange vicinity, made us a pleasant call Wednesday. - Mrs. Lovett left Tuesday for New Albany, on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. J. O. Cash. - W. E. Green and Prof. Lewis, of Slate Spring, were visitors in the Roberts home last week. - Miss Gene Scarbrough left on Thursday of last week to spend a few days in the millinery markets of St. Louis. - E. D. Narmour, a prosperous merchant and farmer of Choctaw, was transacting business in our bustling little town Wednesday. - Miss Maud Harvey, who is teaching at Hohenlinden, made a pleasant visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Harvey, Saturday and Sunday.
SHERWOOD SOCIETY [By Tow Head]: Ethel Arnold went to Reform Wednesday. - Quinton Norris and Albert Clayton were in Sherwood Tuesday. - Mrs. Cora Commander and little son, Glenn, who have been visiting at Mr. Milligan’s for the past few weeks, returned to their home at Leland Wednesday. - A musical entertainment at Clarence Arnold’s was very much enjoyed by the young people Friday night.
Ethel Milligan visited friends and relatives in Mathiston Wednesday and Thursday. - Mike Fondren visited home folks Sunday. - Misses Oma and Ora Hester were pleasant visitors at G. H. McClains Sunday. - Dessie Oswalt was in Sherwood Wednesday. - Bud McMinn went to Mathiston Wednesday. - Quite a number of the “Sherwood Band” enjoyed the singing at Mr. Narmour’s Sunday afternoon. - Prof. L. H. Hester visited his uncle, Jim Arnold, Thursday. - Bro. Dobbs will fill his regular appointment here next Sunday. - The party at W. F. Hawkins was greatly enjoyed by the society folks Saturday night. - Singing at Blythe Creek next Sunday afternoon.
