RECIPES: EGGLESS CAKE: Take one and one-half cupfuls of sugar, one cupful of sour milk, three level cupfuls of sifted flour, one-half cupful of butter, one teaspoonful of soda, one-half of teaspoonful of soda, one-half of teaspoonful of cinnamon, one teaspoonful of grated nutmeg, one teacupful of raisins chopped fine and well floured. – HOME-MADE SAUSAGE: Chop as fine as possible one pound of lean beef and two ounces of suet. Mix well together one teaspoonful of salt, one teaspoonful of fine sage, and one saltspoonful of pepper; add to chopped meat; form into little cakes and bake in the oven or fry in the usual manner. – CELERY STUFFING: Put one quart of bread crumbs into bowl, cover with tepid water, let stand one minute and squeeze dry; place in another bowl and mix lightly with half a bunch of celery, chopped fine, one teaspoonful of salt, one-quarter of a teaspoonful of pepper, one-half cupful of melted butter, and two beaten eggs.

We are glad to state that we have a first-class meat market in Ackerman now, conducted by J. D. Barron. His market is located on Front Street one door west of W. T. Hunt’s where you can get fresh meats at reasonable prices at any time. Also he keeps ice for sale.
LOCALS AND PERSONALS: W. J. Daniel attended court at Starkville Monday. - Irish potatoes of all kinds at Blumenfeld & Fried’s at 25 cents per peck. - Dr. Alva Snow went down to Jackson Monday to stand Dental Examination. - W. J. Sanders of the Kosciusko Star-Ledger was a visitor to Ackerman, Monday. - Mrs. D. B. McKinnon is visiting the family of her son, Mr. J. H. McKinnon this week. - Messrs. D. H. and John Quinn, Chas. W. Cornish and Tom Prewitt went to Memphis Monday to the Dewey celebration.
A protracted meeting is in progress at the Methodist church, the pastor being assisted by Rev. D. L. Cogdall of Louisville. - J. W. Meece, the competent Census Enumerator appointee of Beat Two, Reform Post-office, was in town awhile Wednesday. - Messrs. J. L. Seawright and A. Cramer attended the Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias in session in Columbus this week, the former being the Representative of Choctaw Lodge No. 88.
