Winston, Webster and Choctaw
The Mississippi Department of Health reported at 11 a.m. on May 14, 393 new cases and 15 new deaths as of 6pm May 13, 2020. The totals are now 10,483 COVID-19 positive persons in the state with 480 deaths. Cases reported to the MSDH after 6 p.m. will be reported later.
Choctaw County has 18 cases with 2 deaths, Webster County has 22 cases and 1 death and Winston County has 70 cases with no deaths recoded by MDHS. MDHS recording deaths maybe lagged behind due to many factors.
Wear a mask in public places
All Mississippi residents should wear non-medical grade masks or homemade cloth masks when shopping, running errands, or otherwise away from home. Face covering is especially important when a distance of at least 6 feet cannot easily be maintained between persons. This recommendation does not include manufactured (surgical) or N95 masks, which should be reserved for healthcare workers and first responders.
