During their meeting on Tuesday, March 3, the Louisville Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a redevelopment resolution which will ultimately lead to the construction of a Jack’s Family Restaurant at the corner of South Church Ave. and Cagle St.
It is reported that Jack’s has been interested in locating a franchise in Louisville for some time and the proposal currently under discussion has been in the works since this past October. The new restaurant, along with the Tractor Supply Company, will help to revitalize that area of the City.
The Board also unanimously approved the M.P.A.C. (Making Progress Across Communities) resolution which will launch a summer program for youth beginning on June 1, with the goal of teaching responsibility, like skills, character development and much more. There are many stakeholders in this endeavor including the Winston Partnership’s Community Development and the Louisville Municipal School District.
Mayor Will Hill discusses ongoing negotiations with Bumper’s to provide concession at the park during baseball and softball seasons with the City receiving 50% of the gross revenue.
On the Airport Hangar Renovation Project, the Board voted unanimously to authorize payment to King Construction, LLC in the amount of $24K for partial completion of Phase I, and to Clearwater Consultants in the amount of $15.7K.
Hill announced a hearing on a USDA grant application for Thursday, March 12 at 10 a.m.
In other action, the Board:
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment to PPM Consultants for $23.9K for professional services through January on the EPA Brownfield Project.
• Voted 5-0 to set hearings on unclean properties at 270 E. Academy St. and 266 E. Academy St. for March 17.
• Voted 5-0 to approve Donnie Graham as a contract worker for Louisville Police Dept.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize the lease/purchase of three ExMark lawn mowers through Wells Fargo Equipment Finance for 36 payments of $578 and to authorize the Mayor to sign all related documents.
• Voted 5-0 to authorize payment of Docket of Claims for $125.9K.
