During a regular meeting of the Louisville Municipal School District Board of Trustees, on Tuesday, December 8, Superintendent David Luke reported the intent to remain on the current hybrid schedule at least for the first two weeks in January. He also reported that actual COVID cases among students remains low, with only nine positive tests, at the time of the meeting. With Governor Tate Reeves new orders, the district moved to remote virtual format December 11 to December 18. Luke notified staff and stakeholders: “The Louisville Municipal School District will transition to a remote/virtual format at all schools Monday, December 14, 2020 and will continue through Friday, December 18, 2020. Teachers from each school will send instructions for assignments and Google Classroom via the student's school email and School Status. All extra- curricular contests have been canceled from Monday, December 14, 2020 until January 1, 2021. We recognize that the pandemic continues to be a challenging time for all of our families and students, but I know we can get through this as we work together in keeping our students and staff safe. As we approach the holiday season, please follow the Mississippi Department of Health guidelines: wear your mask, wash your hands, avoid exposure to large groups, and socially distance. I deeply appreciate your patience and resilience as we continue to work through this pandemic.” In the Decemer 8 meeting, the Board also unanimously approved the emergency purchase from Synergetics for access points, switches, and ports in the amount of $310.7K. This is MSPRBAA Program money. The Board voted unanimously for approval of CEV Multi Media as sole source vendor for agricultural software for Nanih Waiya and Noxapater in the amount of $14K. This is ESSER and EDLA money. In other action, the Board: • Voted 5-0 for approval of Dr. Leigh Ann McMullan as consultant and professional development coordinator for the 21st Century Grant in the amount of $36K. • Voted 5-0 for approval of Dr. Eric Moyen as the external auditor for the 21st Century Grant in the amount of $8K. The date of the next meeting of the LMSD Board of Trustees was set for Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.
