In dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, for the safety of all parties concerned, the Louisville Municipal School District Board of Trustees live-streamed it’s regularly scheduled meeting, on Tuesday, March 24, on YouTube.
The Board unanimously approved a Turnkey Solution Agreement/Site License for a fingerprint machine which will be used in conducting background checks on prospective employees. This will greatly speed a process that in the past could take as much as two weeks, and will now be accomplished in minutes.
In other action, the Board:
•Unanimously approved moving forward with the MS Sports Clay Shooting Program.
• Voted unanimously to approve the following Sixteenth-Section items:
• Cancellation of a nine-acre farm residential lease for Katherine Smith and approve a new one-acre residential lease for her on 16-13-11 (Liberty).
• Cancellation of an 11-acre farm residential lease for Stephanie Raynes and approve a new one-acre residential lease for her on 16-13-12 (Noxapater).
• Cancellation of a 1.6-acre expired residential lease on Jimmy & Julia Lovorn and approve a new residential lease on the same area 16-13-12 (Noxapater).
• Approve a new one-acre residential lease for Brandon Hudson on 16-14-12 (Center Ridge).
• Approval to expand the airport runway zone lease from 10.7 acres to 19.3 acres and approve a payment by the airport of $11K for the standing timber on this area, 16-15-12 (Poplar Flat).
The LMSD Board of Trustees had held two emergency/ special meetings to address the COVID-19 pandemic and closing of the schools.
The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m.
