The 3rd annual Junior Auxiliary of Louisville Charity Ball will be rescheduled from its planned April 10, 2021 event date. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, the JA board has decided to postpone the event until a later date and announce plans once firm.
The Junior Auxiliary of Louisville is currently gearing up with other 2021 projects.
“We plan to have a virtual auction in the near future so please follow us on our Junior Auxiliary of Louisville, Mississippi Facebook page for updates and auction info. As always, thank you to the community for the continued support of this organization,” noted JA members.
Services and projects of the Junior Auxiliary annually benefit communities and residents, including more than 500 children in Nanih Waiya, Noxapater and Louisville. One project the group is actively involved with is Backpacks of Hope for area schoolchildren. Backpacks of Hope is a community program that provides food for schoolchildren in Winston County who might not have ample food over weekends when school meals are unavailable.
The Junior Auxiliary has been an active part of Winston County since the Louisville chapter was formed in 1946. About 25 active members donated hundreds of service hours in 2020 to the chapter’s various projects. Most recently, the group hosted its annual Angel Tree, which helped some 150 families in the community celebrate and receive Christmas presents. In addition to the Angel Tree, the group hosted a Breakfast with Santa for local children.
Junior Auxiliary of Louisville is a part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA).
, a nonprofit organization founded in 1941 and headquartered in the Mississippi town of Greenville. NAJA has 15,621 active, associate and life members in 96 chapters across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. Each chapter raises funds annually through two primary projects — the Charity Ball and Poinsettia sales.
