The Eupora High School band participated in Disney Performing Arts Performances and Workshops at Walt Disney World in March.
The band, which took the trip March 5-9, was invited to perform at select locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.
The band students spent the day at Epcot on March 6. They participated in the “You’re Instrumental” workshop, where a Disney cast member directed them and they played songs from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Moana.”
After the workshop, the rest of the day was spent exploring Epcot’s various rides and entertainment. The students enjoyed rides such as Spaceship Earth, Mission: Space, Test Track and Soarin’ Around the World.
They concluded their visit to Epcot by enjoying the nighttime spectacular fireworks show “Epcot Forever.”
The morning of March 7 was spent exploring Animal Kingdom. Some students watched shows like Winged Encounters — The Kingdom Takes Flight, It’s Tough to be a Bug! and Festival of the Lion King while others chose to ride Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain and Kilimanjaro Safaris.
The afternoon/evening was spent at Hollywood Studios, where students enjoyed shows such as Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Rides here included Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Band students spent the day at Magic Kingdom on March 8, when they marched in the Disney Festival of Fantasy Pre-Parade.
They enjoyed rides such as Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Peter Pan’s Flight and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. They also took in shows such as The Hall of Presidents and Country Bear Jamboree.
Band members ended the night by watching Happily Ever After — an awesome nighttime display where Disney stories are brought to life through fireworks, projections, lights and lasers.
