Members of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Louisville visited Louisville Healthcare recently to provide items for the residents.
Adhering to all COVID-19 protocols, club members provided the items to the staff outside of the facility.
“Buffalo Soldiers are focused on helping the community especially during the Christmas saeson,” said Club member Gerald Hayes.
Along with the Louisville Club members two Natioanl Members were on the ride to provied the dontations to Louisville Healthcare.
Reggie Marable, National Secretary from Tuscaloosa attended the event.
“Our Mission is to give back,” said Marable. “We pay homage to the original Buffalo soldiers by bringing joy to others. This means such much especially with COVID-19.”
Pamela Barber, a Buffalo Soldier Club member and an eaployee at Louisville Healthcare, presented the idea of the donation to the club and was excited to bring the items to the resdients at the facility.
“The Buffalo Soldiers’ Motorcycle Club is about honoring the past and having a genuine love for the 9th and 10th Calvary and their service. We honor them by helping others,” said member Gerald Hayes
The Buffalo Soldiers are a motorcycle club started in 1999 by a retired police officer to honor the legacy of African-American soldiers.
The Buffalo Soldiers have over 122 chapters throughout the country and focus largely on giving back to their communities. Five local chapters of the club are in the state with Louisville as the founding chapter in the state.
