Local law enforcement agencies made a number of felony drug arrests in June. The information that follows is taken from social media posts by the Webster County Sheriff’s Department and arrest records at the Webster County Jail. On June 2, deputies with the WCSD conducted a traffic stop on U.S 82. During a search of the vehicle, weapons, a felony amount of marijuana and Ecstasy were discovered. Lexus James, 29, was charged with weapon possession by a felon; Edgueana Stokes, 34, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and introducing contraband into a facility; and Lakeithia Stokes, 29, was charged with felony possession of marijuana. All three subjects were released June 3 on bond, which was set at $5,000 for James and $10,000 each for the others. On June 3, a deputy arrested Donald Horton, 71, on charges of felony possession of meth and two traffic offenses. He was released June 7 on a $10,000 bond. On June 21, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Mathiston Police Department and Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office initiated a safety/ID checkpoint on Mississippi 15. Bruce Edward Peay was flagged for an unpaid fine in Webster County. During this time Choctaw deputies deployed K9 Ruby and she alerted on the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle deputies recovered a felony amount of methamphetamine. Peay, 38, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and released June 22 on a $10,000 bond. On June 22 around 6 p.m., a Webster County deputy assisted a Natchez Trace park ranger on a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the deputy recovered a felony amount of methamphetamine from the driver. Hershel Posey, 44, of Fulton was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, speeding and DUI-other. He was being held at the Webster County Jail on a $10,000 bond as of Monday morning. The Mathiston Police Department and the Webster County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop around 11 p.m. June 23 on U.S. 82 in Mathiston. The WCSD said the stop led to the recovery of a large amount of methamphetamine and money. The driver, Gary Brock of Jackson, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance. He also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of alcohol, no tag and suspended driver’s license. Brock 32, posted a $20,000 bond Thursday. On June 24 around 5:30 p.m., a Webster County deputy conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the deputy recovered a felony amount of methamphetamine from the driver. Donald Wayne Fason, 61, was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. He remained in the Webster County Jail as of Monday morning in lieu of a $20,00 bond. Friday night, jail records show a Eupora Police Department officer arrested Stewart Parker, 51, on a charge of felony possession of meth. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and various traffic offenses. Parker was released Saturday on a $5,000 bond.
