Four-County Electric Power Association officials are extending the deadline to return a member survey regarding the co-op’s deliberations about the possibility of offering broadband service.
“After our April board meeting April 21, and after discussion with our staff and stakeholders, 4-County decided to extend the broadband survey deadline. Our intent is to gather as many responses as we can to better gauge the wants and needs of our membership as we continue our decision making process,” said 4-County CEO/General Manager Brian Clark. “We understand that the pandemic has altered people’s lives, so we will continue to take responses until Friday, May 22.”
Clark says that members who misplaced their surveys or did not receive them can contact the utility at broadband@4county.org, or call 1-800-431-1544. Members can also visit 4-County’s website at www.4county.org to print a survey.
Members can mail the surveys (4-County; Attn: Marketing Department; P.O. Box 351; Columbus, MS 39703), drop them off at one of 4-County’s drive-through windows, or they can be scanned and emailed back.
“Members can just email us at the broadband address with their account info and their survey answers and we will record the answers for them,” Clark added.
Members returning the survey will be eligible for prizes, including: a retired 4-County pickup truck, a $500 credit for electricity and other prizes. Four-County will announce the results of the survey and the prizewinners associated with it during its annual meeting June 4 in a live-streaming event.
Four-County officials will also answer broadband questions during the meeting. Four-County asks that members who have questions about the broadband issue to email them, call them in or post them on the associations’ Facebook page by 5 p.m. May 29, and the questions will be addressed during the annual meeting.
Again, the meeting (canceled in person because of COVID-19) will be streamed via Facebook, YouTube and other platforms beginning at noon on June 4. More information on how to watch the meeting will be available closer to the June 4 date.
