The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed six people on Highway 14 East in Louisville.
In a press release today, Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Derrick Beckom said: On Thursday, August 1, 2024, at approximately 10:27 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 14 in Winston County. A 2013 KIA RIO driven by 25-year-old Sara L. Batchelor of Sebastopol, Mississippi, traveled east on Highway 14 when it collided with a 2013 Nissan Maxima driven by 22-year-old Laqerious R. Brown of Macon, Mississippi, traveling west on Highway 14.
Beckom went on to state: Laqerious R. Brown, the driver of the Nissan, received fatal injuries from the crash. Sara L. Batchelor, the driver of the Kia, and her five passengers, a 16-year-old female, a 6-year-old female, a 3-year-old male, and a 1-year-old female, also received fatal injuries from the crash and were all pronounced dead on the scene
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
