William Cloyce Nail, aged 69, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center-Hospice Unit in Tupelo, Mississippi on September 14, 2021. He was the son of the late James Ethel and Ester Anglin Nail and was married to Becky “Gee” Nail. His children and grandchildren knew their marriage was rare. They thought “Pops” was a wonderfully attentive and supportive husband who shared an unconditional love with his wife of almost fifty years.
Cloyce graduated from Eupora High School and Mississippi State University. Since retirement from Sarah Lee in 2014, he enjoyed all the time he spent with his family, most especially with his grandchildren and siblings. He loved being able to share his stories and his enjoyment of working outdoors with his grands. In his spare time, he loved the friendships he built with his neighbors in the Bellefontaine community and those he served with on the North Union Cemetery Committee. Although he was a quiet man, his faith was of utmost importance and the foundation for how he lived his life.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Nail of Bellefontaine, Mississippi; two daughters, Meredith (James) Johnson of Elizabeth, Colorado and Rebecca (Tony) Crimm of Mathiston, Mississippi; a brother, Bert Nail (and the late Betty Nail) of Starkville, Mississippi; a sister, Verla (Allen) Pepper of Starkville, Mississippi; and seven grandchildren, Bryce Johnson, Bailey Johnson (Timothy) Peacock, Brooke Johnson, Brogan Johnson, Tyler (Brianna) Crimm, Garrett Crimm, and Jacob Crimm.
Cloyce is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ester Nail.
