Russell Lee Akers III

Services for Russell Lee Akers III, 68, of French Camp were Feb. 6, 2022, at French Camp Presbyterian Church. Burial was Feb. 7 in Lakewood Cemetery in Clinton.
He was born in San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 13, 1953, to the late Russell Lee Akers Jr. and Betty Akers. Mr. Akers was a former pastor and youth pastor, and he and his wife served as dorm parents at French Camp Academy. He served for years as volunteer fire chief in French Camp. Mr. Akers died Feb 2, 2022.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Akers; two daughters Somer Rodriguez of French Camp and Amber Buescher of Bertram, Texas; two sisters, Jerrie Wood of Grayson, Ga., and Russa Turner of West Virginia; and seven grandchildren.
Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
Irene Clark

Private funeral services (family and closest friends) for Irene Clark, 94, of Eupora are at 2 p.m. Feb. 9, 2022, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Burial will follow in Wood Springs Cemetery. Visitation for family and close friends begins at 1 p.m. till service time. The family requests that those attending take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID.
She was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Madison County to the late Walter and Ruby Peden Whitehead. Mrs. Clark was a longtime employee of Wells Lamont Glove Manufacturing Co. in Eupora. She died Feb. 4, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.
Survivors include a son, Donny Clark of Ackerman; three sisters, Aleene Caraway of Bolton, Dorothy “Dot” Griffin of Jackson and Mary Cook of Brandon; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Wood Springs Cemetery Fund.
Charlie Ivy ‘C. I.’ Weems

Services for Charlie Ivy "C. I." Weems, 95, of West Point were Feb. 7, 2022, at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point with the Rev. Bobby Brock officiating. Burial followed in Arbor Grove Cemetery in Houston.
He was born March 28, 1926, in Zama to the late Charlie and Eloma Weems. Mr. Weems worked as a welder for Babcock and Wilcox for 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Weems died Feb. 1, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Ann Blackwell of Mathiston; two sons, Charles Weems and Wallace Weems of West Point: 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ryan Blackwell, Charles Allen Foster, Allen Morgan, Derrick Trehern, Ben Weems and Josh Weems.

Crystal Gaye Richardson
Crystal Gaye Richardson, age 40, passed away on February 2,2022, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. No services are planned at this time.
Crystal was born December 2, 1981, to Gary Willis and Mary Richardson in Starkville, Mississippi.
Crystal is survived by her daughter Marissa Richardson, her mother Mary Richardson both of Louisville, and her father Gary Willis of Austin, Texas.

Judith Ann “Judy” Bowen
Judith Ann “Judy” Bowen, age 72, passed away on January 29,2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
Judy was born September 26, 1949, to Estelle Eads Bowen in Michigan. She worked at both Polo and Angelica factories in Louisville.
Judy is survived by two daughters Karen Baczkowski of Louisville and Kathleen Baczkowski of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Grandmother of nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Camille Lawson and Andrea Luke, and brother Mark Bowen.

Charles Davis McBride
Funeral services for Charles Davis McBride, 75, were held at 11 a.m., February 2 at Millsprings M.B. Church in Weir. Rev. Benjamin Lewis officiated. Burial followed in the Bethlehem cemetery.
Mr. McBride died January 28 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby McBride; 3 daughters, Daphne Hunt, Angela Eiland, and Patricia Whitcom; one son, Dewayne Welch; aunts; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Andrew Holman
Funeral services for Andrew Holman, 57 were held at 2 p.m., February 5 at Beck Funeral Home in Weir. Dr. Michael Taylor officiated. Burial followed in the Hopewell Cemetery in McCool.
Mr. Holman died January 30 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Eupora.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae Holman; 2 daughters, Ladanyell Triplett and Koneeka Thomas; 2 sons, Andrew Thomas and Keith Thomas; 4 sisters, Ann Nell Merrit, Vera Triplett, Brenda Johnson, and Margaret Carter; 3 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
