Services for William Anthony Odom, 74, were Dec. 12, 2021, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Burial followed at Craig Springs Cemetery near Sturgis.
He was born Nov. 5, 1947, in Oktibbeha County to the late Author Mancil Sr. and Mary Louise Presley Odom. Mr. Odom was retired from Mississippi State University as a landscaper. He died Dec. 9, 2021, at his residence in Ackerman.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Phillips Odom; four brothers, Hilbert Bush of Starkville, Jerry Odom of Bradley, Author Mancil Jr. Odom of Ackerman and Paul Odom of Sturgis; six sisters, Vickie Salley of Ackerman, Cornelia Roebuck of Kosciusko, Betty Brown, Charlotte Anderson and Stella Sanders, all of Starkville, and Gwen Ray of Bradley; one God-daughter, Robin Briones of Sturgis; two God-grandchildren; two God-great-grandchildren; and 23 nieces and nephews.
